Virginia Gay Hospital and clinics (VGH) provides acute care on an inpatient and outpatient basis, skilled nursing care, long term care, and home health care. Most important to VGH are the people of the communities we serve, which includes Benton and adjacent counties.
Based on mandated regulations from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), we have published a complete list of standard charges for services offered at VGH. A “charge” is not the same as “expected payment.” A “charge” is the amount billed for service; however, in the majority of cases, hospitals and clinics are paid considerably less than the “charge.” In many instances, additional charges are added based on the findings of the initial service, which may increase the “expected payment.”
Because the costs to patients are based on their health insurance plans, the charges listed may not be reflective of what you will pay. If you would like to get an accurate estimate of charges based on your situation, please contact a member of our Business Office staff. Staff members are available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 319-472-6200.
As part of this mission, Virginia Gay Hospital and Clinics offer financial assistance through the Financial Assistance Policy to patients unable to pay for emergency or medically necessary care.
Eligibility for financial assistance is based on multiple factors, including condition and care required, insurance coverage or other sources of payment (including personal injury claims), income (Federal Poverty Level guidelines used to determine the amount of financial assistance offered), family size, assets.
