Community Rallies to Raise More Than $11,000 During Party in Pink 5K/10K
The Virginia Gay Hospital Foundation extends its sincere appreciation to everyone who made the 2026 Party in Pink 5K/10K a tremendous success. Despite warm and humid summer conditions, hundreds of community members came together to support the Foundation’s Gifts of Hope program, raising more than $11,000 to benefit local individuals and families.
Proceeds from the event will help provide access to mammograms, annual health check-ups, and financial assistance for medical expenses associated with a breast cancer diagnosis. Gifts of Hope is dedicated to reducing barriers to care and providing support for those affected by breast cancer within our community.
The Foundation is grateful for the many organizations and individuals whose generosity and volunteer spirit made the evening possible. Special thanks are extended to our generous donors and sponsors, the Vinton Fire Department, North Benton Ambulance Service, the Vinton Police Department, the Vinton Parks & Recreation Department, the Virginia Gay Hospital Maintenance Department, more than 100 Virginia Gay Hospital staff members and Vinton community volunteers, and the Benton County breast cancer survivors whose courage continues to inspire this event each year.
Most importantly, the Foundation thanks every participant who braved the sultry summer weather to walk and run in support of this important cause. Their enthusiasm and commitment demonstrated the strength and compassion of the community.
“The success of Party in Pink is a reflection of what can happen when a community comes together for a common purpose,” said Robin Martin, Foundation Director. “Every dollar raised stays local and helps ensure our friends, neighbors, and loved ones have access to important preventive care and financial assistance during one of life’s most difficult journeys. We are truly grateful for the overwhelming support.”
