BENTON COUNTY HEALTH AND WELLNESS FAIR – THANK YOU
Thank you to our sponsors and exhibitors for helping make the Benton County Health & Wellness Fair a wonderful success again this year! Their participation, enthusiasm, and commitment to serving our community created a truly positive and engaging event.
We were grateful for the partnership with the Kiwanis Club of Vinton Pancake Breakfast, which helped increase attendance and added to the welcoming community atmosphere. A special thank you as well to Vinton-Shellsburg Community School District for providing access to the high school facility and supporting this event.
We were excited to welcome approximately 550 attendees and 57 exhibitors this year. The excellent displays and meaningful engagement with community members truly highlighted the many valuable services and resources available in our area. The hands-on activities and interactive exhibits were especially appreciated by families and attendees.
A special shout-out goes to Michelle Sutton with National Alliance on Mental Illness for helping promote the event through her monthly segment with KCRG-TV9, we truly appreciate the extra effort to spread the word.
We are also grateful to Kara Hernandez and the Community Partnership for Protecting Children, which generously provided 200 first aid kits for families with children.
Additional highlights from the day included:
- 55 blood pressure checks provided by Virginia Gay Hospital
- 10 glucose screenings
- 50 boxes of food distributed from Feeding America
- 75 Backpacks Disaster Recovery Bags distributed from Disaster Recovery Coalition
- Kids Helmets distributed from Vinton Police Department provided by CPPC – had a few left over from previous year
- 4 children’s vision screenings through Lions KidSight USA
These services, along with the many educational resources and conversations taking place throughout the fair, made for a meaningful and impactful day for our community.
