Celebrating Rick Lazenby’s Dedication and Service

VGH Celebrates Rick Lazenby’s Nearly 20 Years of Dedication and Service

Virginia Gay Hospital (VGH) proudly announces the upcoming retirement of Rick Lazenby, effective August 9, 2024, after nearly two decades of exemplary service. Rick has been an indispensable member of our Maintenance team since October 25, 2005, contributing significantly to our facility’s safety, maintenance excellence, and overall camaraderie.

During his tenure, Rick has distinguished himself with his unwavering expertise and commitment, particularly in fire safety and maintenance. His meticulous approach ensured our facilities’ compliance and readiness, resulting in numerous flawless inspections by the State Fire Marshal. Rick’s dedication to excellence has set a standard that will endure long beyond his retirement.

Beyond his crucial role in maintenance and safety, Rick has been our resident woodworking expert, renowned for his craftsmanship in wall repairs and paintwork, and grill master. His attention to detail has left an indelible mark on our facilities, enhancing their functionality and aesthetic appeal.

As Rick embarks on this new chapter of his life, Virginia Gay Hospital extends its heartfelt gratitude for his years of hard work, dedication, and the positive spirit he brought to our team. His departure will leave a void that will be deeply felt by all of us at VGH, but his legacy of excellence will continue to inspire future generations of healthcare professionals.

We invite colleagues, friends, and well-wishers to join us in celebrating Rick’s remarkable career and accomplishments at a farewell gathering on August 9th, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at VGH Clinic Conference Room. Cake will be served as we reflect on Rick’s impact and bid him a fond farewell.

Rick, your contributions to Virginia Gay Hospital have been invaluable, and your presence will be sorely missed. Although you cannot be replaced, your influence will resonate throughout our organization for years to come.

Please join us in wishing Rick all the best in his well-deserved retirement.
