Dr. Meeker Transitions Practice Hours and Responsibilities
Effective May 1, 2024, Dr. Meeker has successfully transitioned his practice to a reduced schedule of 28 hours per week. This transition, meticulously planned over the past year, aims to optimize his availability and focus in various healthcare settings. Despite several unplanned events necessitating clarification, Dr. Meeker remains committed to providing exceptional care across multiple facilities.
Moving forward, Dr. Meeker will primarily work at VFMC on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, maintaining his routine schedule. Additionally, he will continue performing surgical and endoscopic procedures at VGH, ensuring continuity in specialized care. On Thursdays, Dr. Meeker will devote his attention to medical directive services and patient care at Nursing and Rehab, Vinton Lutheran Home, Cedar Valley Ranch, Windsor Manor, and Keystone Care Center.
Kris Salzmann, who has been an integral part of Dr. Meeker’s team for nearly 25 years, will transition to a part-time remote assistant role. Kris will continue crucial responsibilities such as coordinating endoscopic procedures, managing lab and imaging results communication, and other essential administrative duties facilitated by electronic medical records and advanced communication technologies.
In the midst of recruitment, rebuilding, and growth phases at VGH/VFMC, Dr. Meeker will retain his position as Hospital Director and uphold responsibilities within the call system. His commitment to serving as Benton County Medical Examiner remains unwavering.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has shown understanding and support during this transitional phase. Dr. Meeker and his team remain dedicated to delivering high-quality healthcare services throughout this period of adjustment.
