Employee Spotlight – Lindsey Morehouse
My name is Lindsey Morehouse. I work in the Radiology Department as the Lead Mammography Tech. I have been employed at VGH for 4 years. My job duties include performing quality imaging for each patient I encounter. I enjoy being able to help patients and providers find the answers they’re looking for. What I love most about my job is working together as a team with great coworkers and being able to make a difference during a patient’s imaging process, no matter what type of exam it is. I chose to pursue a career in Radiology because I’ve always been interested in the anatomy of the human body and being able to view it in different modalities. Being able to branch off from general x-ray to learn Mammography, CT, and DEXA scans has been a bonus to this career. Each modality is interesting in its own way and teaches me new things daily. A recent achievement of mine is passing the Mammography state inspection done annually.
One thing I can’t live without is my family. My husband, Raymond, and I were high school sweethearts. We have been together for 16 years total, married for 10. We have three children: Kolton, Ella, and Lacy. They keep us busy and on our toes, but we love it! My hobbies include reading, running, family trips, and being outdoors. One fun fact about me is that I placed 1st in my age group for a 10K trail run that included over 1,000 ft of elevation during the race. My favorite childhood memory is taking summer vacations every year with my parents and 2 siblings to multiple different states and monuments. My favorite vacation spots would probably be the Rocky Mountains, the Grand Canyon, and recently to New York and seeing the tree lighting. All were amazing to see. I love hiking and being outdoors and in the mountains. If someone were to describe me in three words, they would be trustworthy, dependable, and caring.
