My name is Renee Bear I work in the Human Resources Department as an HR Generalist. I have worked at VGH for just over a year and a half. Most of my time is spent sending out job offers, getting necessary information for new hires, and then doing new hire orientation. Additionally, I assist employees with benefits, whether that be questions about coverages, signing up, or making changes. What I love most about my job is getting to meet all the new employees and working with all the managers of each department. My biggest contribution to the team is that I consider myself an ”outside of the box” thinker. I chose to work at VGH because it checked all my boxes. It is close to home, has a good benefit package, and fits with my strengths and previous experience. It also came with the great benefit of being able to see my daughter at work occasionally.
One thing I can’t live without is my family. My husband Al and I have two children together, Reanna and Carson. We also have two spoiled dog fur babies, Steel and Blue, and several outside cats. My hobbies include spending time with my family, kayaking, camping, and being outside. One fun fact about me is that my hair becomes curlier the older that I get. In some of my lower elementary school pictures, my hair looks almost completely straight. My favorite vacation spot is Disney as I have been to Walt Disney World twice and Disneyland, however, I enjoy going to different places and don’t usually visit the same place twice. My favorite food is pizza. I have always wanted to learn how to play piano. My favorite childhood memory is that we didn’t have a bedtime in the summer. I remember playing flashlight tag, watching T.V., and sometimes eating candy right before going to bed.
