Employee Spotlight – Taylor Vogt – Sonographer

My name is Taylor (Stodola) Vogt. I’ve been a Sonographer in the Radiology Department at VGH for the past eight years, and I truly value the work I do here. My role involves performing high-quality diagnostic imaging while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. What I love most about my job is having the independence to do my work, while still knowing I have a supportive team behind me—and the opportunity to help people by discovering the root of their health concerns. In many ways, I feel like the doctor’s eyes—helping to uncover what can’t be seen on the surface and piecing together the story that guides a patient’s treatment.

My journey into ultrasound started with a curiosity sparked by my mom’s ultrasound images during my siblings’ pregnancies. That early fascination turned into a career grounded in empathy and a genuine desire to help others. One of my proudest contributions at VGH has been creating 3D/4D ultrasound sessions—giving expectant moms a special glimpse of their babies before they’re born. The smile on everyone’s face is priceless!

I’m known among my colleagues for having a positive attitude and a strong belief that humor is the best medicine. One of the most meaningful moments in my career was helping a patient finally receive a diagnosis after years of unexplained pain. It reminded me just how important our work can be.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my kids—creating, cooking new meals, or watching classic movies together. I’m the oldest of five siblings and a proud mom to Max (10) and Ruby (5), who are truly the lights of my life. A fun fact about me: I have 20 tattoos! I’ve always wanted to learn American Sign Language, and one of my favorite childhood memories is taking a historic house tour in Prairie Du Chien, WI. I feel most at peace on any warm beach, and my favorite meal is chicken gnocchi—especially when I’m cooking it with my daughter. If you asked people to describe me in three words, they’d probably say I’m fair, funny, and friendly.

Being part of the VGH community means a lot to me. I’m proud to work in a place that always puts patients first.
