Healthy Kids Iowa Food Distribution
Community Volunteers Serve Up Smiles – Rain or Shine!
Despite the rainy weather, the June 26th food box distribution event was a huge success — thanks to our amazing volunteers (VGH Staff, Van Horne Lions Club, Vinton-Shellsburg School and Staff, Benton Community School and Staff) and community support. A total of 307 kids received food boxes, ensuring families had access to nutritious meals and support when it mattered most. This event was made possible through a partnership between Virginia Gay Hospital, HACAP
, and the Healthy Kids Iowa program, working together to support children and families in our community.
A very special thank-you goes out to Vinton-Shellsburg High School and Benton Community School in Van Horne for their continued partnership and dedication. Your support plays a vital role in reaching families throughout Benton County.
From food boxes to friendly faces, the evening was a shining example of what can be accomplished when we work together — rain or shine!
Mark your calendars!
Our next food box distribution will take place on Wednesday, July 17th, with the final event scheduled for Wednesday, August 7th — rain or shine!
Whether you’re volunteering or picking up a box, your presence makes all the difference.
