Welcome Ivy M. Huber, RN, BSN, CWOCN – Virginia Gay’s Newest Wound Nurse!

Ivy is no stranger to Vinton—she grew up here and began her medical career as a CNA at Virginia Gay Hospital. She quickly recognized the need for specialized wound care in the community. After earning her nursing degree from the University of Iowa College of Nursing, she worked at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, where she gained valuable experience collaborating with wound care specialists.

In 2021, Ivy completed her certification in Wound, Ostomy, and Continence through WebWOC and went on to serve as the in-house wound nurse at The Gardens of Cedar Rapids. With expertise in treating pressure injuries, diabetic ulcers, vascular ulcers, and traumatic wounds, Ivy brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to her patients.

She is currently accepting new patients on Mondays while spending the rest of the week caring for residents at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab.

Outside of work, Ivy enjoys being a devoted plant mom, caring for her two fur babies, indulging in arts and crafts, and making memories with family and friends.

Please join us in welcoming Ivy back to the Virginia Gay family!
